MN Umpires Awards and Achievment Highlights
Spencer Ellis
2023 MN Umpires Scholarship Recipient
Spencer Ellis is attending Black Hills State University in Spearfish SD majoring in Finance. He is the oldest of 8 children and has been a role model for his siblings demonstrating the importance of hard work. Spencer has been an Umpire since he was 16 years old and has umpired 54 games for MN Umpires this past season. Umpiring has been a positive impact both personally and professionally. It has helped him gain better communication skills, organizational skills and time management. It has also taught him to be more patient as well as confident.
Max Everett
2023 MN Umpires Scholarship Recipient
Max Everett is in his 3rd year at Gustavus Adolphus College, pursuing a double major in Biology and Environmental Studies and a minor in Music.
Max says umpiring has enhanced his communication and leadership skills and also fostered a strong sense of integrity and fairness. Professionally, umpiring has taught him valuable skills that are transferable to various career paths. The ability to make quick decisions under pressure, maintain composure in challenging situations, and effectively communicate.
First Annual
Umpire Expo
On Februaury 11, 2023, we held the first annual MN Umpires Umpire Expo. This event had training for all umpires, offering beginner, intermediate, and advanced training. There was also used umpire gear for sale as well as door prizes, t-shirts, and more, which made it a fun and successful event!

Jimmy Lee Umpire Awards Winners 2023
The St Paul Saints hosted the 2nd Annual Jimmy Lee Umpire Awards on Aug 16 at CHS Field. MN Umpires were well represented, winning the following awards:
Most Dedicated Umpire - David Rivera
Most Improved Umpire - Thatcher Enneking
Rookie Umpire of the Year - Phil Stegman
Young Umpire of the Year - Riley Nelson
